Description

The gayang or barbed spear is one of many traditional weapons of the Ifugao from the Cordillera region. The barbs on the spearhead ensure that the removal of the spear from an opponent creates maximum damage.

As part of Ifugao identity, it is also used as a decorative motif on textiles together with the kalasag (shield).
