Description

This wraparound skirt is worn by Ifugao women with the bands arranged horizontally. It is made from narrow panels of hand-woven fabric joined together. It is interesting for the assortment of popular Cordilleran designs woven into the fabric, ranging from the ubiquitous diamond-shaped mata-mata or eye pattern, male figures, weapons, to symbols of good luck such as lizards and snakes.
