Using images of Philippine landscapes and even of the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park in the Japanese Invasion Money (JIM) was one way for the Japanese Government to claim a legitimate hold of the Philippines. This shows how currency can also be used as propaganda by indicating ideas of nationhood and a shared history.
