Worldbuilding: Fantasy Writing Workshop

WORLDBUILDING: A FANTASY WRITING WORKSHOP
Facilitated by Dean Francis Alfar

5 May 2019 | 9AM-5PM
Open to teens 13 to 18 years old

From schools that teach witchcraft and wizardry to wardrobes that lead to a land of fantasy, all the legends are true for anyone whose imagination is big enough to create a whole new world!

This workshop introduces young adult writers to the techniques, strategies, and approaches of Worldbuilding. More than just creating a basic setting, it emphasizes defining and developing a
narrative world direct from the imagination. Participants will gain an understanding of a milieu’s purpose, requirements, and point-of-view, and demonstrate that understanding through the creation and development of their worlds.
