Ayala Museum and Instituto Cervantes de Manila present

LITERATURE APPRECIATION: The Spanish Golden Age
With Mr. Marco Antonio Joven-Romero
3 March 2019 | 3PM – 5PM

16th century Spain is well known for its discovery of new lands and growth in political power. However, it also marked the beginning of its Siglo de Oro or Golden Age in Literature when writers such as Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, and Luis de Góngora crafted their most famous works.

In this lecture, let us look back and learn about the great writings of that time, from the picaresque novel to culternismo and conceptismo poetry, and so much more.

Mr. Marco Antonio Joven-Romero is a visiting professor at the Department of Foreign Languages of the University of Santo Tomas where he currently teaches Spanish language and literature.
