Session 1: Words

Share examples of songs and the stories behind them.
Share writing exercises, techniques and frameworks and take you through them to produce what could be the words of your own original song.

Session 2: Music
Experience the basic elements of music together and see how, in harmony with your words from the previous session, a song may emerge.

The Facilitator

Joey Ayala is a singer-songwriter much-awarded for his songs’ relevance of subject matter – environment, society, values – and his use of indigenous instruments and influences in his recordings and performances. The uniquely-Filipino elements of his work led one music scholar to quip “if Joey Ayala didn’t exist, we’d have to invent him.” His contributions to contemporary Philippine culture have been recognized by a wide range of institutions and are evidenced by a number of awards.

Fees, terms and conditions:

Php 4,900 Regular Fee
Php 4,410 Discounted rate for Ayala Museum Members and Ayala Group of Companies Employees

Fees are inclusive of materials, handouts, snacks, a certificate, one day free admission to Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library.

  • Early Bird Enrollment
    • Register and pay either the reservation fee (30% of full rate: Php 1,470) or in full with 5% early bird discount (Php 4,655) on or before Sunday, October 1, 2017 
    • For those who choose the former, 70% balance must be paid on the day of the workshop.
    • 5% early bird discount does not apply to Ayala Museum Members and AGC Employees.
  • Late Enrollment
    • Registration after Sunday, October 1, 2017 is subject to availability of slots. Kindly inquire with our Education department for available slots. Only full payments (Php 4,900 regular, Php 4,410 Member/AGC rate) will be accepted during this time (Note: Museum is closed on Mondays).

HOW TO REGISTER?

Step 1:
Please fill up the registration form.

Step 2:
Payment can be made at the Ayala Museum counter or through bank payment to Ayala Foundation, Inc. (account no. 0011-1490-14) at any BPI branch. Deposit slip copies must be emailed at education@ayalamuseum.org

Step 3:
A confirmation email will be received from the Ayala Museum staff to confirm if your reservation has been finalized.
