ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Juan Ignacio Pita obtained his Bachelor of Arts, major in Arts History from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, under the Department of Geography and History, in hopes of becoming a development worker with a humanistic approach through culture and the arts. He was Arts History and Visual Language professor for several years at the UAGRM University in Bolivia, and is the author of more than a hundred art-related articles featured in numerous books, magazines and newspapers. Aside from being a curator of several exhibitions, Mr. Pita was also a lecturer and jury in numerous art encounters, including the biennials of Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo in Brazil. He is Head of the Spanish Cooperation in the Philippines, a position he similarly held in Vietnam, Cambodia, El Salvador, SICA, Mozambique and Brazil.
