Ayala Museum presents
TALK | PROGRAM SERIES
In My Father’s Room
with Patricia Araneta and Felice Sta. Maria
Saturday, 14 January 2017 | 3 – 5 PM
Ground Floor Lobby, Ayala Museum
The legacy of Luis Ma. Araneta as a collector and connoisseur covered a wide range of interests, from Philippine colonial sculpture and paintings to Asian traditional arts and classical antiquities. His influence spanned the fields of architecture, theater, film, interior design, and decoration. As a patriot, collector, designer, and as an intellectual and social figure, his name evokes a rarefied grandeur and nostalgia for an opulent and gracious past.
Patricia Ma. Araneta and Felice Sta. Maria share their stories of the man whose contributions are represented in a display of small objects, full of loving memories and whimsical choices. The exhibition is not a recreation of a specific physical space Luis Ma. Araneta occupied, but a multi-dimensional tableaux of his deep and inspiring appreciation for Philippine material culture.
