Ayala Museum presents
Personal Essay Writing
with Camille Dela Rosa and Carissa Pobre
August 20, 2016 | 9 AM – 4PM
This is a writing workshop about the form of the personal essay. In this class, you’ll learn how to express your experiences through words so that what matters to you will hopefully matter to other people. We will study examples by popular essayists, give you feedback about your work, help you revise, and help you find your unique voice. The workshop will be facilitated by Camille Dela Rosa and Carissa Pobre of Drink, a pioneer in sustainability and business communications in Southeast Asia.
Camille was a Literature and Creative Writing teacher at St. Scholastica’s College and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She wrote for lifestyle magazines and was Managing Director of Side Trip, a local travel magazine. She was also Deputy Executive Director at the National Book Development Board where she helped organize the Philippine International Literary Festival. She is now Chief Operating Officer at Drink.
Carissa works as a sustainability writer at Drink. She graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a BFA in Creative Writing where she completed her chapbook of poems and essays, Self-machinations. Her literary work has also appeared in Kritika Kultura, High Chair, BookWatch, and Transit.
