Basic Oil Painting Workshop

with Robert Besana

Pursue Juan Luna’s skill in oil painting with this workshop. Know how to correctly draw anatomy and render your image with life-like colours using this beloved medium. This is also an opportunity to learn about timeless techniques of the romantic painters.

What will be covered:

  • The human figure (torso and head only)
  • Use of oil paint and other materials
  • Basic techniques
  • Techniques of different artists
  • Choosing colors
Requirements:
  • People with sufficient drawing skills; who understand the fundamental principles and elements of art. People who have also attended basic drawing classes.
  • People who have formal/informal art education background and have been practicing their craft in different media but would like to learn oil painting.
  • Those who have had basic knowledge of oil paint and those who have handled oil paint before and want follow-up lessons
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Robert Besana is a multi-awarded visual artist and an art educator. He is currently the Director of the School of Multimedia Arts at the Asia Pacific College (APC). He earned his MA in Fine Arts and his Degree in Fine Arts at Philippine Women’s University, Taft Ave., Manila. Besana has always been intrigued with polemics, perception and perspectives.

Since his student days he has been participating in numerous local  group exhibits, as well as garnering awards from various local competitions such as Art Petron, Shell National Student Art Competition and the PLDT-DPC Telephone Directory Cover competition.

His works were also featured in various exhibits and galleries all over the metro. Including his solo exhibits. He  also worked on several curatorial projects at different galleries in Manila, namely UP College of Fine Arts Corridor Gallery, Blanc Gallery Katipunan, Gallery Anna.
