The Ayala Museum invites everyone with a knack for storytelling and an interest in discussing current issues and other topics of relevance to learn about the art and craft of Feature Writing. This introductory workshop will focus on the basics of writing a feature story. It will help participants find and develop stories behind various topics, and focus on writing at a more personal level and in a more narrative style. Learn what defines a feature story, its different types and styles. Discover what it takes to get published.

About the facilitator

The workshop facilitator, Ruel S. De Vera has been writing features articles on all sorts of topics for over two decades now. He has been teaching feature writing for almost the same period of time. He is Associate Editor at the Sunday Inquirer Magazine and reviews books and movies for the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He teaches journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Communication and previously taught at the University of the Philippines. He has a Master’s degree in Journalism from the Ateneo.
